Welcome to our school website! I am very proud to be able to share with you the wonderful opportunities and developments here at Carlton Primary Academy! 

Put simply, our academy believes that 'Together we can achieve anything'. We endeavour to 'create a culture where ALL our children fulfil their PERSONAL, SOCIAL and ACADEMIC potential in preparation for life after Carlton Primary Academy.' The academy has a dedicated team that works hard to reach high standards in everything we do and this is further embedded through our successful relationships with parents, the local community and the other schools in Pioneer Academies Communities Trust.

Since my appointment in September, staff at Carlton have made every effort to make the place in which children learn first class. Classrooms, corridors and communal areas are taking on a new lease of life and vigour.  The learning environments are becoming crisp, celebratory and purposeful which gives children and staff immense pride in the work and the school.

Carlton Primary Academy is a vibrant school where children are enthusiastic and motivated to achieve endless possibilities. The children are at the heart of everything we do and we ensure that they are happy, confident and that the opportunities that are provided for them are relevant to their needs both now and in the future.  We expect excellence from them and in turn they can expect the very best from the educators in school. 

New curricular and extra curricular initiatives that are involving wider community groups will enable our children to have priceless learning opportunities outside of the school to represent our school with pride, work with other schools, contribute to society in different ways and respect other people from Barnsley and the wider world. In addition to this, we firmly believe that education is a partnership between home and school and regard you as an active partner in your child's education and value your interest and support. Very quickly, the school has and will continue to grow a reputation of polite, articulate and willing to contribute young people who are proud to be from Carlton Primary Academy.

Through our engaging curriculum, we ensure that children can foster a passion for learning and curiosity that will help to develop high aspirations and a lifetime of memories. We believe in ensuring that children receive a well-rounded curriculum; where individual talents can be spotted and nurtured to ensure that all children experience success.

I hope that this website will give you as much information as possible about our school, the staff and the many activities that our children enjoy through our curriculum and our extra-curricular activities that you need. It will grow over time as we add more information, but can never replace the first-hand experience of coming to visit us.
