Methods for Arithmetic
After phone calls and messages from parents, a few people said they had used the guide to understand the methods but they were struggling to explain this to their child and it was causing a bit of confusion. I have made some videos going through examples, similar to what we would go through as a class every day, just to help the children recap the methods. This is by no means a replacement of teaching as we would refer to lots of vocabulary and I would ask the children lots of questions while working these out but under the circumstances, this is just a way of parents being able to show the children what method they need to be using to work out their answers. This method uses regrouping of tens and ones. Children should become fluent with the method using no regrouping before trying the regrouping method.
