Welcome to Berners-Lee Class page!
We are a class of Y5 & Y6 UKS2 pupils.
Our class teacher is Mr. R. Smith.
We are supported by Mrs. J. Harwood and Mrs. T. Hipwell Stafford
Miss. H. Rutter & Mr. B. Roebuck are also part of our Covid-safe bubble alongside Classes Einstein & Mandela.
Together we are the UKS2 bubble.
We are named after the inventor of the world wide web, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, without whom, you probably wouldn't be reading this right now.
Our P.E. day with Mr. N. Walters is currently Thursday.
We promise to keep you updated with special events, home learning and news about our enquiry via this page.
JANUARY LOCKDOWN COMMENCING JANUARY 5th, 2021
Following the government's announcement at 8 p.m. on 4.1.21. your child's learning has now moved online as it did during Spring & Summer of 2020. Your child's daily learning can be accessed via the Seesaw learning platform.
Each week day, your child will receive a broad balance of learning activities closely following the curriculum we had planned to deliver face to face if the academy had been open.
Our enquiry question this half term is "What makes our communities significant?'
On the Seesaw learning platform, your child will have access to a variety of activities exploring this question.
The discrete teaching of reading, writing and mathematics will also be made available.
I will respond to your child's learning daily, posting comments and help wherever needed.
Remember, you can get in touch via Seesaw by leaving a message on the learning platform. I will reply to you as quickly as I can.
Please keep visiting the class webpage, as you have today, for updates, as well as learning resources and competitions throughout the weeks ahead.
Take care and stay safe.
Best wishes through this difficult time.
Mr. R. Smith
Your child's class teacher.
To the pupils in my class,
Happy new year everyone! Not the greatest start to the year but remember, this pandemic will NOT last forever. Until we meet again, myself, Miss. Rutter and Mr. Roebuck have planned some exciting activities for you.
You will need to log in to your Seesaw accounts as you did in the spring. I will try and respond to your work as quickly as possible. During the days I am teaching the key worker children, this may take just a little longer than normal so be patient with me!
If you need to ask me any questions about your learning, you can also post any queries you have via the Seesaw platform.
There's lots and lots to be optimistic about this year, so stay positive - know that this time apart from your friends will pass, and look confidently to the future. We can do this!
Take care and stay safe.
