Day-to-day routines

P.E.

Your child will require a correct P.E. kit on the following days:

Mondays and Thursdays

During the autumn term, unless communicated otherwise in your child's journal, the kit required will be an indoor P.E. kit.

Please consult your child's journal if you are unsure what the current correct P.E. kit is.

Reading

It is an expectation that your child reads for a minimum of ten minutes per day as part of their ongoing homework.

Please encourage your child to record their progress in reading in their journal.

Curriculum

Buddying (with Class SD)

During Curriculum, your child will study a variety of subjects including History, Geography, R.E., Art & Design and Technology.

Theme Days will take place as and when appropriate.

Whole academy assemblies/group worship take place on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays whilst class assemblies are held every Tuesday and Thursday.

A class book is read to the children by either Mr. Smith or Mrs. Harwood at the end of each day except Thursdays when Mr. Smith is out of class.

*Mr. Smith reserves the right to adjust this timetable according to the needs of the children and the priorities of the curriculum in a given week.

Homework:

Homework is given each Friday with an expectation that this is returned by the following Thursday. Year Six is a key year in your child's learning. Please support your child with their home learning tasks in any way you can even if this is simply prompting them to return their work before the specified deadline(s.) This is excellent practice for year seven!

Spellings:

Your child's spellings will be recorded in their journal at the start of each week and tested on a Friday.

Your child will be tested on any 8 of the 10 spellings listed.

A score of 6 or above is credited as a pass.
