Our Learning Journey

The children launched their 'Enterprise' topic on Monday, May 20th. Our guest speaker Paul talked the children through the process of creating a radio show. They discussed promotion, the use of social media and being successful in the world of business.

Imagination Gaming

The children worked with the Imagination Gaming team on Friday, May 10th. The children worked on a variety of games to stimulate their metacognition, creativity and problem solving skills.

On Monday, May 13th 2019, we visited Carlton Park and took part in some games of bowls and tennis.

Gosh! Where has the time gone? Is it Summer Term already?

Year 6's - it is your final term at Carlton! But before you spread your wings and move on to pastures new, we have some exciting projects to work on.

Year 5's - you will also be playing a huge part in the end of year celebrations with your older peers as we work together on a joint enterprise!

So - What will our main enterprise be?

Working with Mr. Smith, Mr. Donnelly, Mrs. Greatorex, Mrs. Hipwell-Stafford, Mrs. Murray and Mrs. Harrison, the children will be performing 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' in the woodland - and all the parents will be invited!

The children will make and sell products as part of the performance and will have the opportunity to act, design and make props and perform in a version of the play, especially written by Mr. Smith, to share with the community. Mr. Donnelly will coach the actors post-SATs whilst Mr. Smith continues to work with the year five children in the mornings! Exciting stuff! :-)
