Dear Year 6,
I know that that this is an important week for you all and that some of you are feeling a little bit nervous about it so there are a few things I want to tell you.
Since I have been at Carlton I have been blown away by your enthusiasm, fabulous personalities and your commitment to hard work.
It is important for you to know that there are some things that exams and tests do not measure. They don’t show how respectful and polite you all are, I see this in you all every day. They don’t measure how to be a good friend, to listen and share and look after each other. They don’t show how kind and responsible you are. They also don’t show how talented you are at music, art, drama and sport.
Yes, English and maths are important and we all know how hard you have worked so we know that all you need to do is show your best. There is no doubt that you will all go on to be successful after you have left Carlton, at secondary school and in later life. Be proud of all you have achieved during your time at Carlton because all your teachers, support staff, Mrs Everett and myself are very very proud of you all. Year 6...you are all amazing ....never forget this!
